What gave you the push to start vlogging and putting your own face on the interwebz? What keeps you doing it?
I started videoblogging 5 years ago after seeing 3 things:
Rocketboom
Michael Verdi’s Coffee & Cookies:http://michaelverdi.com/2005/03/05/coffee-cookies/
and basically all Ryanne’s videos from March 2005: http://ryanedit.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
I saw people sharing their lives. The quiet little things that get overlooked and I was amazed! It was all right there. Before I knew it, I was part of this community doing some really awesome groundbreaking things that built the foundation for what today is a part of normal life and media consumption on the internet. I started making my own videos because I had a free camera (borrowed from school) and a new computer. I was learning how to make videos and wanted an audience to share them with. It became a way for me to communicate with others, to show a different perspective and also as a way to record moments in my life forever. I have a video scrapbook of 5 years of my life
I have a desire to create. I can’t stop. I love moving images. I love real life. I love communicating. And I also see a value in documenting things for posterity. While today, most of my videos are just from trips I take, I still value the creative process and find it to be a great way to spend my time.
